Mayor Ken Sim announced a 3.9% property tax increase to balance Vancouver's $2.36 billion budget, significantly lower than previous hikes. The budget reflects savings from optimizing resources and enhancing efficiencies. The Vancouver Police Department's budget request was trimmed to $425 million, including funding for body-worn cameras.
